The Regional Anchor of PIDA Week 2026

ECCAS/CEEAC is the regional political and institutional coordinator for the Central Africa component of PIDA Week 2026. Hosting PIDA Week 2026 in Brazzaville places the Central Africa portfolio — and the alignment challenges of multi-state regional projects — at the centre of the continental agenda.

Central Africa Priorities

  • Transport corridors — regional road, rail and multimodal corridors connecting Central Africa's economies, including the Brazzaville–Kinshasa road–rail bridge, a flagship cross-border PIDA project on the Congo River.
  • Energy interconnections — regional power interconnections and market integration under CMP/AfSEM.
  • Water — water infrastructure and resilience, aligned with the AU 2026 water and sanitation theme.
  • ICT — regional digital connectivity and backbone infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure delivery — preparation, maturation and bankability of the CEEAC/Central Africa portfolio, supported by dedicated clinics during PIDA Week.

Project Directory

A validated directory of Central Africa priority projects — with filters by sector, country, corridor, maturity stage and preparation need — is under validation and will be published here once confirmed by project owners and the relevant institutions. Project costs, statuses and maturity levels are not displayed until confirmed.

A Dedicated Hub for African Island Developing States

PIDA Week 2026 features a dedicated focus on African Island Developing States: Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelles, Mauritius, Comoros and Madagascar.

Corridors

  • Western Corridor — Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe.
  • Eastern–Southern Corridor — Seychelles, Mauritius, Comoros and Madagascar.

Sectors

  • Climate-resilient economic infrastructure
  • Maritime connectivity, ports and shipping
  • Air connectivity
  • Water, WASH and integrated water resources management
  • Special economic zones and industrialisation
  • Blue economy

Project Preparation

The hub supports project identification, diagnostics, pre-feasibility, PPP structuring, quality labelling and investment mobilisation for island-state infrastructure. Active project activities are clearly distinguished from proposed or future actions; budget and funding details are published only once cleared by the relevant institutions.
